http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/underdev/warlock.html

This post covers possible changes coming up in patch 3.2 as well as further down the road.

Highlights include:
  • Helping with pet swapping by decreasing the cooldown on Fel Domination
  • Helping with agro issues by decreasing the cooldown on Soulshatter
  • Increasing pet's survivability and scalability by bumping their resilience and spell penetration
  • Providing some burst damage to Affliction by bumping Haunt (via Pandemic?)
and probably the most interesting change...
  • Making soul shards exciting

Interesting that they say they are looking to "chill" damage across the board for different classes in the new patch.  I wonder if that's just pvp or pve as well?

Right now (since last patch) fire locks can lay down some good dps.

I'm not sure, but they may be referring to the lowering of crit dmg across all classes. I was wondering when I read about lowering the crit dmg -- how that would affect Boss encounters (assuming it applies to both PvP and PvE). This change would lower overall raid DPS, so enrage timers/achievements etc would need to be adjusted or this change will be like an increase in difficulty level.
