One of the biggest issues in healers is a tendency to not heal yourself.  Oops... If you die the raid is soon to follow.

Fortunately we have a spell called Binding Heal.  Get to know it and use it.  Looking back at the stats I think almost all the healing priests are under utilizing this spell.  There is almost no (non movement) circumstance where if you are taking damage you can't use bind and patch yourself up if needed. In the slag pot? binding heal the MT or anyone else in range... Got light bomb... Bind your way out... MT healing during Decimate... Greater heal, bind, greater, bind... back to your regular rotation.  It functions with Serendipity as well.

Its not the answer to every situation but it is the answer to many of them.  It won't help you if you stand in a circle of death or go toe to toe with a slime or ghost... but it really is useful for the usual stuff.

Also, IIRC, Binding Heal has a lower aggro coefficient for the same amount of healing to the target (basically you get your heal for free from an aggro pt of view).

Another suggestion, not just for priests and surely not just for healers. If you are Draenei, use your GoNaaru early in the fight even if your health is not "low" per say...that way it may be available again later in the fight as well. It does not last long... but it is a heal over time that could assist in making a difference of survival.

Also, bandaging. There didn't seem to be a real need for it much with wrath content...other than of course achievements. If you have any down time or find yourself low on health...stop for two seconds and bandage...even if you cant complete the full bandage effect... every tick of health means survival...and it greatly helps the healers. If you have not maxed your bandaging with the frostweave...that is okay, because any attempt to help will... in the end help.

Sometimes it is hard... and there is no down time to think about bandaging. However, fights like the deconstructor... when the heart drops, there is a moment in which one could help by bandaging while the healers stand to regen mana and keep the tanks up that are tanking the "big" mini guys. Another thing would be if you get the light bomb... and you run out, the minute it expires...bandage quickly then hop back in. You may consider that it "could" take away from your dps time... however, if in the end you end up dead... well... you can not dps dead.

There is also another fight, mimiron...when KoR gets there...that will have down time between phases. I really do think it is important to at least carry one stack of bandages on you...it will definately help.

Yar Sicro, Binding heal has a very low agro coefficient and is  essentially free in that regard.

As Toullei mentions bring bandages.  For Mimiron you will certainly need them and sometimes we'll be losing healers during a fight so its good to have an option.
